Single Phase Short Circuit Impedance Test
 

 

 

Test is performed by short circuiting the LV winding of the transformer and applying a 1Ø, 230V, to HV winding. The phase currents and voltages are measured and by calculation comparison is made to the nameplate % impedance. The result of the benchmark test compared to the nameplate value should be within 2 to 3%. It also provides information for mechanical condition assessment of the transformer.
